I knew I needed to calibrate mine when my hot tub was too hot to touch and my thermometer said it was barely 100F. Also now I know what that end on the thing is for @ 2:03

As a former calibration tech I know the only good thermometer calibration is done at at LEAST two points - for instance, freezing water and boiling water. A thermometer you calibrated to 32 degrees, might read 30 degrees low in boiling water. And if you're only going to check at one point, you should probably check the accuracy at the high end of the scale, rather than 32 degrees.
