How to calibrate COMARK Pocket Thermometers

Why not incorporate a +/- button to fine-tune the device? Who can ensure that this reading is exactly 0 degrees Celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit? The precision and reliability of this method seem highly questionable.

I had the same problem. I believe the calibration only works if the ice solution reads within 2 degrees of 32F or 1 degree of 0C. If the deviation is greater the thermometer won't calibrate. So either you made the solution incorrectly (in my case I added too much water which made the solution too warm, the water level should just about cover the ice) or the thermometer has deviated too much, in which case I guess you would need to calibrate repeatedly with multiple solutions at 2 degrees F apart.
