In this short video, Roy shows how to calibrate a temperature measurement loop with analog transmitter, local display and DCS display using the Beamex MC6 calibrator and Beamex FB 150 temperature dry block.
The MC6 will allow him to complete a fully automatic calibration. It was previously loaded with information like instruments to be tested using Beamex CMX calibration management software. The MC6 also provides instructions on where to plug each lead. Finally, the MC6 allows you to take calibration results and upload them into the Beamex CMX calibration software, resulting in a fully automated and paperless calibration.

When I select the instrument on the documenting calibrator I get the error: controller is not available. The instrument I am testing is a thermocouple

Hi Cody, You may configure the MC6 to use an external controller, such as a temperature dry block, for automating the calibration. That message sounds like this instruments has been configured to use a controller, but the controller is not currently connected. So either connect the controller, or then edit the instrument in MC6 so that it does not communicate with a controller. Hope this helps.

I have a problem. I calibrate transmitter passed (error < 0.1 %), sensor passed (error < 1%). But when I connect transmitter and sensor, I calibrate failed (error = 1.6%). I checked connect MC6, FB660, transmitter, sensor ... are not loose. Please support me.

Hello there. Well, that does not sounds like very normal. When sensor and transmitter are connected together the error may of course be the sum of the errors, but in some cases the errors may also compensate each others (if they are different direction). But I think that in your case there is some repeatability problems. I think that the sensor, transmitter, or the calibration method is not consistent and repeatable, so you get different results with different runs. Transmitter calibration is less likely to cause repetability issues, but please try to calibrate the sensor (or the whole combination) a few times and see if you always get the same results. If not, try to see what is causing the difference. Maybe the sensor calibration is done too fast and it does not stabilize well enough.
