Thanks for your video! I tried it with my electronic load and discovered that it works only with 1 A load current, not with 2A. The current measurement of the FNB58 is precise up to 4 digits!

It would have been better if you had included showing how the device will actually give the watt rating of the cable [PD 100W, for example] as well. Knowing whether a cable is rated for 140W or 100W is arguably more important than just knowing if a cable is overly resistive. Also, please make another video where you explain how to accurately measure power bank capacity by using the device, calulating to Wh and compensating from the nominal 3.7V battery to the 5V usb current. There arent any good videos that are solely a tutorial on calculating power bank capacity with the FNIRSI FNB58.

I don't know when I'll have time to record another video 4 U. But as the video stated, the 100W cable was the best cable I have. For my needs this FNB58 does exactly what I purchased it for. It does much more, but I move quickly to new ideas and I don't have any cable that is 140W, sorry. Why don't you buy this useful tool and make a video, please send me where the video is, so I can learn something from you. FNB58 is on sale: fnirsistore.com/product/fnirsi-fnb58-usb-tester-voltmeter-ammeter/ Even less here: www.amazon.com/Voltmeter-Ammeter-Protocol-Trigger-Voltage/dp/B0CNXJBLHP/ref=sr_1_7?crid=P2RV9BKFME5P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.rqIXBILoZAtkrJ-yUk1UgCgq-wB7vsgGWgrmqbmPpGdRRQ33TqH7CqtlmM4VhF-9JwCW4EltTb6J9_l7Ft119b7w508Lmj8VDx0J5lFQqS6z2_D45ORLGjxv0CuNl7AH0352FFlvsqaSoNGe53hCgQfIQaHQyFZBCe-uzrxvAGfdGbpNtUO5QCoIkWFoy6yh.F9fKxDPHwn6Qfcd3InzELeYono85nIi7Fe7IW8XMwKo&dib_tag=se&keywords=FNIRSI+FNB58+USB&qid=1719327635&sprefix=fnirsi+fnb58+usb%2Caps%2C251&sr=8-7 You have a great day!

great video .. i gotta ask tough .. why is it necessary to put a resistor on the right side ? there has to be a simpler way than this right?

My son found this part somewhere on the net and we plaid with the bad "how to" and found that the best calibration was to use a resistor between 25 to 100 Ohms.

just in case if anybody sees this comment and might benefit from this i found multiple videos about this topic this is for A to type C : kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJzTXnRuq9p8btU and there is also a way to check type C to type C cable also : kzbin.info/www/bejne/poekeqWQp7-Mq5o by the way didn't you say it was an 8 ohm resistor the one that you chose in this video ? and what was the gauge of the wire that you soldered to the usb connector? again great video and thank you for the quick reply !!

Thanks for the great review! Can the FNIRSI FNB58 use, identify and test Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 cables? Thank you!

No, it is strictly USB tester only, sorry. I searched Amazon for tester for your cables, but there isn't any tester for your needs. But in very short time, the apple products will have USB-C ports, so you will be able to buy a tester or two like the rest of the world! Personally I think there should be one cable and one charger for customers, so there is less waste and makes the devices compatible, again it is great for customers! Have you seen my other video that also test USB cables? kzbin.info/www/bejne/apvIiIeLgaiej6M&ab_channel=TonyFleming I searched for an a adapter for your cables, but couldn't find any that I can recommend.

You probably messed up when you pushed the rocker while pulling the tester out because I am sure that both results should be a lot higher, somewhere between 90 and 200 mOhm

Not the way I've tested the cables. I practice with the USB tester and I went thru many, many cables so I knew what cable was reading before I made the video. You can make a video demonstrating your view and if I can repeat your findings here, I'll give you the credit you deserve. (I hope this isn't coming out as defensive gesture, because I'm not vested in anything I do or make or test...). have a great weekend!

@tonysfun I have been testing usb cables for years now with AVHzY, Witrn, Power-Z and Fnirsi testers and no matter how expensive, I never had one with lower than 60 mOhm. There are countless videos on KZbin, you will not find another one with such low resistance.

@@FransvandeKamp Same here and my son who is also big in testing.... was surprised that his most expensive USB cables 100W was not his best cable! Sometimes the way the wires are shielded and connected - I'm sure you know that there are many standards and even badly made cables .... - so the results can be far apart. I can't solve your experience and results you've measured, but I can tell you that my son (who is in Czech Republic and is in computers and electronics repairs...., and who is dealing with government and very large companies....) did the testing together with me over WhatsApp. I know my son well and he knows me, so we do a lots of learning and testing..... We would never purchase or recommend cables that aren't safe and the best we can get. Inexpensive cables are good for individuals but not for people who depend on them, in this case, great USB cables. What did you measured as the lowest resistence values? The results in the best cables you have tested? Have you tried to use exactly the same setup, like in my video? If you like we can use the Internet to communicate with each other and run some tests - you can tell me how you did it and I'll try to duplicate it here. What do you say? Send me an email to blbcisem@gmail.com if you like and I'll reply to you with details. Have a great weekend!

@tonysfun Well the resistance of copper wire per meter is: awg 20 - 33 mOhm awg 22 - 52 mOhm awg 24 - 84 mOhm Typical resistance of a usb connector is 30 mOhm All of this you can check online. So unless you cable is made of some yet unknown material with next to zero resistance, you can see that your cable can never have 11 mOhm resistance.

I just bought this tester and wanted to test a "26800mah" power bank I bought from Amazon. I don't quite understand how to read the results that's right in front of me. Lol. Is it a 9900mAh or 19600mAH capacity? Screen says the following: Battery CAP Calculation Group: 01 Time: 0 days 14:36:41 CAP: 9.92364 Ah NRG: 80.5495 Wh BAT Vol: 3.7V Conv Eff: 90% Results: 19.5931 Ah Thanks!

Kann der FNB58 mit aktueller Firmware nur 120 Watt? In den Spezifikationen steht maximal 120 Watt! Das schwächste PD3.1 Ladegerät kann 140 Watt! PD3.1 selbst geht bis 240 Watt.
