Just a question, can we not set the high and low side temp clamps to whatever the thermaster on the sman is reading rather then go to the trouble of putting them into ice water. Lets say my room temp is reading 70.5F and my temp clamps are reading 68F, Can I not just makle the adjustment based on my room temp of my thermaster?

Will this help with wrong subcool and superheat readings? Ive been getting negative subcool readings on my gauges while my pressures and vsat was perfect.

Nice demo. Do we need to be concerned about the possibility the sensing area is actually contacting an ice cube? I don't know but I was thinking a cube can be colder than 32deg.

Thanks for watching! No you shouldn't have to be concerned about direct contact with the ice. As long as you're not clamping the probe around a cube of ice General temperature of the ice water should be about 32 degrees

Yeah pretty much as long as the probe is not touching any ice cubes and you want to make sure the water is Thoroughly Blended so there's no cold or warm pockets
