Why is there a gap between the bubble and the two lines? Wouldn't it be easier to read if the bubble touched both lines? Why do some levels have a pair of parallel lines on each side of the bubble?

If the level is accurate when the bubble touches the outer lines it will indicate an incline of say 1 in 40. This is useful when laying drains or to indicate a slope away from the house when building a deck or laying paving.

guess you don't lol, if it's not adjustable then you throw it away or use only the bubble showing correct, I don't know if there is anyone that can calibrate bubble's on non- calibrating levels. Maybe it's possible to take it out and glue it back in properly? Oh well, what he also didnt show when he was showing PLUM part is he flipped the level but on the same side, the level could be bent like in my case, just a small bit bent but when you're trying to level kitchen elements that small bit can be alot on 10 elements if you keep flipping it .
