Standard practice for testing a level in the trade, but probably not a known method by DIY-ers. I'm not sure the hardware stores would be happy with _everyone_ doing this as ultimately they would be left with a bunch of not-quite-so-good levels no-one wants to buy.

First tip is too clunky and inaccuracies with the big screws. Just put 2 pieces of tape, put marks on the tape. Done

If you want to put a picture on a wall use a piece of scrap paper over the back of the picture and punch through the paper with a pen or a pencil. That will be accurate enough to then transfer the hole centres on to the wall. It is also far more reliable than two loose bits of crudely bent plastic glued to two nuts carefully balanced on the back of a spirit level . Typical pointless KZbin hack which is totally unnecessary and over complicated.
