IN my opinion, the greatest of all street photographers was Henri Cartier - Bresson. From what i have seen, most of his original prints had a small black frame/border. Only a very brave person would suggest a correction to his original choices.

You have recognized and feel that photography can be much more than just taking pictures. You can capture and convey very deep emotions with such photos, what could be more beautiful... And for me, a strong photo without a white frame is like a beautiful book without a cover, unthinkable!

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment! And I really love this metaphor for the framing :)

If you're going to print, 99% of the time it will have a frame and matt. So absolutely your presentation looks like it would if you printed and framed and hung it on the wall. Great review and production. Thanks. You inspire me to be a better artist.

I like your method of looking at the facial expression of the person critiquing your photo. That definitely yields lots of clues. I'm usually in a panic looking at my own photo for more flaws, and anticipating what they might say. Wonderful & educational video!

Great discussion about capturing and expressing emotions in photography. And nice variety of examples of light, shadows, and framing. It’s not just content that connects the photographer or the viewer, it is the emotive character that transforms a technical photo to a compelling photo.

Once again a great video with very valid points. Trying to evoke peoples emotions in your images is sometimes just as difficult as shooting in black and white due to the fact everyone likes different things in images and so one image might evoke emotion in one person but not another. It is hard sometimes to get this across in social media due to the size of image you can display on the screen. Using a border can reduce that image size to but agree it can also make it pop. Sometimes using different border colours helps as well depending in the image. It is surprising when you see an image online or in a book and then you see it printed out and framed in real life. It is then that real emotions can be realised that may not have been there before. In my opinion we focus greatly on the digital medium and forget about the print medium. We all should print out and frame our work more often and then see people’s reaction towards it.

I couldn't agree with you more! Printing the photos is an amazing and important part in photography. I want to make a separate video just on printing and show you the photos that I developed and what I discovered after doing it. Thank you so much for your time dedicated to support my content here, it means so much to me and your comments always make me think a lot about my future content.

It’s hard to argue with your reasoning for white borders. Beautifully expressed thoughts and images, as always (with the one exception of you hating on studio lighting in previous video :)

I am a Fine Art Landscape photographer I admire photographers who speak of emotions in their photos. I have never been able to do that. I see an image that I consider beautiful in nature and I capture that image in its beauty. I do not "feel" an image. I thank GOD for the beauty he has created but I do not feel it. I see it, I acknowledge it and appreciate it and try to capture the image in all its beauty for my clients to see also. I admire you for "Feeling" the image.
