I just bought this bonsai, I’ve been having some work stress lately, so it’s great to have something at home i can have full focus on, and destress a bit

I've ten of these, all now 20 yrs old, grown from tiny greenwood cuttings in 2004.

I nearly bought one today but I'm glad I saw your video as I thought these would be ok indoors.

Your videos are very much appreciated by the global Bonsai community . I find your channel to have the best content and high quality videography. At some point I would love to see a video for intermediate-advanced techniques developing dense ramifications in this species. Thank you again

Have you had luck air layering these? I have a large one in my front yard with some decent branching on it. Should I do it the same way you layered the pyracanthia?

Ryan Christensen yes they should easily air-layer.

BTW- what about wiring? When can we do that to Zelkova?

Hi- What wire is best to use for my Zelkova? Does he even need wiring (for training I mean)? Or securing in his pot? Yep, I named him and gave him a gender too, haha 😳...his name is Zim ☺️. Thank you

Aluminum wire is best for this tree, although i suggest clip and grow technique. In my opinion it gives the tree a more natural look, but it does take longer. You do not have to wire the roots. You can always place rocks around the trunk until the roots take hold. Giving your tree a gender is a great way to envision a style and to choose the perfect pot. You seem excited about bonsai! The world can always use more female bonsai enthusiasts!
