Hi hernandez0084 , We used Tui Sure Strike lawn seed which comes in a couple of different varieties. They do a superfine variety which would give you the carpet look. SR

You lost me when you thought a big SPRAY was your best first approach. We have pets sensitive to poison...maybe a little elbow grease & digging would be our way of wrangling a new lawn patch, then covering with black plastic for awhile & come back later. Our landlords all pushed poison at us CONSTANTLY so we really have had a gutsful of that attitude.

Tip: don't water lawn in the sun because it will kill the grass. Do it when it's cloudy or when the sun is down.
