Multi-layer thermal curtains: definitely yes, even if you have double-glazing. Make sure they go all the way to the floor, and have enough material to remain slightly bunched when closed. Pelmets along the top are pretty unfashionable but helpful in reducing convection. Just watch for condensation on the cold side - you want the dew point of indoor air to remain below the air temperature in the space between window and curtain.

Internal rooms with only one external wall are usually the most comfortable, warm and cheapest to heat.

With an in swing door, you would think that the door sweep would bind when you try to shut the door??
@lindalowe83417 жыл бұрын
1st1shot , It doesn't go down to seal until it hits the cam on the outside of the door, when you push it shut.

How can I seal a patio sliding door to stop the cold feeling I don’t feel a draft but it’s very cold near the patio door, I don’t want to stop using the patio. Is there any way to help the room stay warmer.
@karenbarletta85737 жыл бұрын
Glass does transfer heat out and you can feel it cooling the room standing several feet away, on big windows. I use insulating curtains to contain an in-between layer of air. I think there are insulating blinds which do similarly. Its an excuse to shop around and compare, or look it up if you are making your own.

Use large bubble, bubble wrap, adhere it inside with a spray of water. In the spring roll it up, label & store it for next year.
