For the most part, washing it and steaming it worked! The creases on my bag got lighter and almost unnoticeable! I used hand soap on some dark spots n it got lighter. Not sure if it was previously just a water stain. When u wash though, it is recommended to dunk the whole thing in water even if u only want to clean one spot so water stains don’t arise. I used a towel to pat down excess water, let it sit for couple hrs and then used a blow dryer on low heat when certain remaining spots look wetter than others.

what kind of soap should you use? something designated as gentle HAND soap, bar soap, or something that's supposed to be a gentle detergent for clothes?

My small Dakota was laid against an oil incense stick and now has a large oil stain on it. How can I remove this from the bag?

Use Palmolive! My uncle has a trucking company and would get oil stains on his clothes. My aunt would dab Palmolive or Dawn on the oil stain and let it sit for a while. His clothes would come out spotless.
