I have two of your v1 shells. Now I know why they are built like tanks and the best shell quality I've ever seen in this hobby. Thank you for putting so much care, thought and effort into these.

Thanks Josh! I was doing some sidework making shells and figured I film it in the process. I thought it might help a few people out there that might want to do something similar. Appreciate you my friend!

Haha thanks. I'll have to pass although fiberglass and I get the job done, we don't get along well nor do we have a good working relationship together 😃. Thanks again for your comment.

For anyone not familiar with Chris Bosh shells, they are LEGENDARY in the Ghostbusters community. They are about as accurate and detailed you can get outside of Macks Factory.

This is what we've done over ten years ago. 😄 It was really expensive but we've learned a lot for other projects. 👻🚫 And our Proton Packs are amazing still today. 😊

This is perfect timing, as I'm about to mold my second shell for my business (first mold was a flop, buck was all sorts of bad) and I was worried I didn't know enough about casting to pull it off!

Casting isn't too bad, just takes some time and patience. A shell or two in you'll develop your technique and find out what works and doesn't work. Wish you the best with your future mold and casts.

I checked out your Etsy store. Amazing products and prices. Do you have plans to make and sell a screen accurate cyclotron cover for the spirit Halloween life size proton pack. I ask because I didn't see it on there. Excellent content as always. Keep up the amazing work. Hope you're doing well.

Count by 10 5 times when you're dropping in the fiberglass resin hardener, Chris. That way you'll always be sure.

Hey Chris, when you de mold your 3d print from silicon, do you get little areas of shiny texture that don’t match the texture from the 3d print? I get that when I de mold my 89 Batman emblems.

What material are you casting with sir?
@ChrisBoshProps
@ChrisBoshProps 11 күн бұрын
@@DirectorsArt That will happen if 1. While casting you pulled away material from the mold with your brush while it was close to curing. 2. You didn't mix the material properly and the material didn't cure right in those areas, happens especially with urethane.

@@ChrisBoshProps The thing we just watched you make… I mean, I’d love a full proton pack but I know it’d be an investment needing to save up for. But piece meal might be a lot easier depending on price.

Im 40 seconds in on the video and i immediately disagree with your statement on 3d printing. If your 3d printing, the final product is only going to be as good as the model created in cad. If the cad model was done accurately, and you have a good 3d printer, you can absoluetly get a quality print/proton pack. I have a custom built and designed printer by me that has a build area of 500x800 and might even be able to do that in one print without having to glue smaller sections together like most people would have to do. Nice job on the molding.

I think you misunderstood my point.. The 84 packs used in the movie were cast in resin and fiberglass, not 3D printed. I love 3D printing and modeled my own movie accurate model but there is a group of people that want a full movie accurate pack and a fiberglass shell is the way to go.
