Awesome man, I got about 40 gallons of gulf white sand and 150 lbs of white binder mix for masonry, and probably 4 gallons of chipped blue slate. Thinking very seriously about building this. I live in the mountains and need a good rocket stove, also have the outdoor rings for the pot to set on. 👍

If you try this at home, heres a tip from a concrete inspector. Plain white vinegar will remove leftover cement residue. It will also dissolve concrete on paint. Like a work truck when some dumbass decides its a good idea to wash out his concrete truck next to the inspector’s truck. Cheap generic vegetable cooking spray will work as a form release agent too. Try using white portland cement. 😁👍🎶

If you use vinegar, be sure to wipe it down with water afterward to neutralize the vinegar residue. It is a acid.

@ Zanele Cutshe. If you re-enforce the concrete with heavy gauge wiring like he did, it should be strong and durable. Personally, I would not over fire the stove as that might allow the concrete to develop cracks over time. This stove would be great for a small building, tent, or similar small structure as long as you have proper ventilation. Ideally, the flu pipe should go to the outside. I have made temporary stoves out of cinder blocks, but they won't endure very long.

Small stoves like that can burn twigs and other small sticks. Walk around after a storm and collect the blow down. Kay them out to dry out and store in a dry place.
