Hello! Helpful tutorial. Whats the best way to ensure that the object being encased is not up against the edge of the mold? In this video how did you make sure the flower petals wwerent sticking out during sanding

Hi Jimmy, Thank you for your interest in our products. We recommend pouring a thin layer at the base of your mold. Then place the flower inside allowing the stem to sit in the poured epoxy and wait until the layer becomes gel like. This way when you keep pouring over it wont float or move around. Your EPODEX Team

Do I need to use a respiratory mask when working with this product? Also, what gloves should I use?
@epodex-uk3877
@epodex-uk3877 Жыл бұрын
Hi :) Our products are chemical products but once cured and hardened they are not toxic and do not pose a threat to one’s health. Our products are remarkably odourless during processing, but we always recommend wearing a mask, protective clothing, and gloves (nitrile). Goggles can also be to protect one’s eyes. When sanding and griding surfaces please wear a respirator mask to avoid inhaling dust. Always work in a ventilated room meaning that the doors to the room are open to provide adequate air flow but do not open the windows as humidity can affect your work. Team EPODEX UK

I have been using amazing clear cast, and I have had constant problems with bubbles no matter what temperature/mixing technique I use. Does this one require any other things done to it to get no bubbles other than the mixing stick mentioned? Just pour through the mixing stick? If so I'm definitely buying some. If its about 3cm thick, would I have to keep going back with a heat gun to get rid of bubbles or not? At 2.33 your jug is literally filled with bubbles? 🤔
@epodex-uk3877
@epodex-uk3877 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, all our resins contain debubbling agents. Mixing both components thoroughly leads to bubbling as seen at 2:33. As the mixture reacts, the bubbles slowly disappear leaving the resin to cure perfectly clear and bubble free.
@nickfatsis9607
@nickfatsis9607 2 жыл бұрын
You can always change the viscosity of your resin by mixing it and putting the mixed resin in its mixing cup into a warm bath of water, around 40C, as the viscosity becomes more like water, the bubbles will rise very easily, you can then use IPA to break the bubbles on the surface.

Hi, I don't have a scale, can you help me understand how much to mix together? I have Epodex Pro Ultra clear and I want to cast a small peice of turf from the PSG stadium that I got. It isn't very big and will only be about 10cm x 10cm x 10cm. Thank you!
@epodex-uk3877
@epodex-uk3877 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Thank you for contacting us. The scale is required to weight out each component so that you can precisely adhere to the mixing ratio of 2:1 (2kgA:1kgB). For layers of up to 10 cm you should have purchased the Pro MAX System. The Resin A-component will say Pro Resin but the Hardener B-component will say Pro MAX. Is this the system you are using? Mixing Instructions: Mix the resin A-component with the hardener B-component in a ratio of 2:1 (e.g. 2kg resin: 1kg hardener). Stir through the edge and bottom of the mixing cup as material will settle there. Ideally, pour into a clean mixing cup and mix again until the mixture is streak-free. This ensures that the resin A-component and hardener B-component are completely mixed together. Pour the resin-hardener mixture onto the surface to be coated immediately after mixing, as the product can start to boil in the mixing cup. Let us know if we can be of any moe assistance :) TEAM EPODEX

Hello, We recommend the Pro System. www.epodex.com/en/product/pro-system/ The epoxy resin PRO system is ideal for coating surfaces and making jewellery and small objects. It can be poured up to 2 cm deep per layer. The Resin A-component and hardener B-component are included in each set, as well as the desired colour dye or pigments. Instructions for use can be found on this product page. 24 hours at 20°C to harden and 7 days for full chemical curing to occur. You can use a demoulding spray if needed but epoxy never bonds to silicone moulds :) Team EPODEX

Hi Bela, Thank you for your interest in our products. If you're preserving natural flowers, it's crucial that they're completely dry before casting them in resin. If there is any moisture in the flowers, they will rot in the piece over time. Letting the flowers dry in a container covered by the silica gel preserves the form of the flower in 3D. To press the flowers, simply place them between two pieces of parchment paper inside a heavy book, and allow them to sit for about a week. When working with dried flowers, the flowers will often float to the top. It's best to create the piece in two layers, the first being the placement of the flowers and the second filling the resin to the top of the mould. The product to use is the Pro Plus System. www.epodex.com/en/product/proplus-system/ The epoxy resin PRO+ system is ideal for making river tables and large objects. It can be poured up to 5 cm deep per layer. After curing, you can apply layers repeatedly until the desired depth is reached. The Resin A-component and hardener B-component are included in each set, as well as the desired colour dye or pigments. Instructions for use can be found on this product page. Casting resin Layer thickness: 0,1-5cm Ultra-crystal clear, UV stabilised, VOC- and BPA-free Use: River table, large moulded and decorative object making and much more.. Hi Jake, Thank you for contacting us. Due to colder temperatures in transport, we would like to point out that the A-component (epoxy resin) can crystallize while you store the jugs in cold temperatures. This has the effect of a cloudy, milky thick appearance. White residues may also appear on the edge of the container. No need to worry! You can simply reverse the crystallization. Please place the containers in a water bath of boiling water with the lids tightly on. A few minutes are sufficient on each end of the bottle submerged in the water to reverse the crystallization. Afterward, the product can be processed as usual. If you continue to experience any issues please call us at +44203 3182833. We are here to assist you. Team EPODEX
