Hey man, I think it’s awesome you make these videos and respond to comments still, I wanted to say that I am truly inspired to be a wide receiver, and practice and workout solely for that purpose to be on any team. I still really struggle, though. At home I play pretty fine, and I always track the ball but I think I don’t do it all the way through. I don’t know. I’ll have to see at school today, but all in all, after a horrible day of football, your videos give me confidence and tips to keep going, thank you

Appreciate you man! I would suggest 3-4 months to make a big change in your speed. It takes time and this obviously isn’t one size fits all- you might see results in a month with a simple tweak to your form. But that’s what I would guess 3-4

I’m going to try to play junior varsity next school year as a freshman, I have never played on the football team before, I’ve played around with the football players though in stuff like flag football or just two hand touch, I’ve mostly been in the gym, I’ve got a strong chest, arms, and decent legs and back, I’m 5’9 and 1/2 but I’m definitely still growing, just 1 month ago I was 5’8. I have talked to the runny backs at my school and I feel like I’d be a good fit, what position do you think I should play? Do you have any suggestions for me?
@firstdowntraining2 ай бұрын
I would say definitely slot WR. I think you have a good build and skill set for that position! I appreciate you watching and reaching out man. Hit me up anytime you have any questions

so I've been watching your videos for a long time and they really help but I realize that I'm not bad at catching it's just that during my games I zone out and I noticed that I zoned out because I would make a play and then right after I didn't even remember what I just did and I think that causes me to drop certain balls when I'm not thinking about what I'm doing if that makes sense
@firstdowntraining4 ай бұрын
100%, I would honestly try to focus solely on the hands. Don’t worry too much about anything else but when the ball is in the air if you can lock in and just focus on looking the ball in- it will help you a ton with those drops
@user-qx4ui3lu2b5 ай бұрын
How do you know when to look back on an over the shoulder pass? I sometimes mess up and look too early or late. Is there a way of knowing or should I just practice more?

I would suggest when you’re in the open field (not the redzone) keep your head down for about 10yds- in the redzone you keep your head down for like 2-3yds because it will be a quicker fade. We are posting a video on that this week!

Coach should I stay low and tight when I’m running my routes and if so how low should I be?
@firstdowntraining5 ай бұрын
Yeah you want to have long strides but a slight lean forward with your pad level. I tell my guys to pretend they are “pulling a sled” and this usually helps them with pad level
