This is NOT the way to catch a salmon on a worm in the days of catch and release as the worm is likely to be in the salmons stomach. I recommend that you strike after the 4th tap and then there is a greater possibility of the fish being hooked in the mouth.

@@jayinwood647 It is an offence to kill a salmon in English and most Scottish rivers. If caught by the EA baliffs, the fine is £10,000.

​@rodneykaye9399 where do you get that warped fucking idea from it's not an offence to kill a salmon on our river if they do ban it fair enough we will return all fish at the moment we are to keep 2 per season that's more than enough just for the record the lad in this video is on our committee catches a lot of salmon returns nearly all his fish

I love fishing the worm, doctors should prescribe it. Shrimp or worm rumbling about on a wee bouncing betty. Still allowed on my clubs water

Well done, so far this season I have caught 0 sea trout and 0 salmon, I blame the river I am on lol. Is the river you are fishing in spate or just after spate, as it looks quite full? I am thinking that I should try my local river when the levels are up rather than waiting for the drop back.

Thank you, every river is different I would always try and fish for salmon when the river is in spate , try and fish it most days until it drops back to low conditions again. When it drops to low concentrate on the deeper holding pools ( mainly shrimp/worm) Once you’ve had 1 there’s no going back …

I’m sure intentionally aiming for salmon with worm is illegal. It is so in wales anyway.

@@Onlyanangler Likewise, on the river, I fish on the border to Scotland. Some angling groups and associations chose to ban worm and or prawn, but that is their own rules.
