Some military leaders have dedicated themselves to the art of the army and the blade. Not Hera though. While some studied the blade and bow, Hera studied the hammer and nail. Some generals strive towards positioning and formations. Hera? He knows how to defeat armies with walls and gates. Think your army with forging and husbandry has a chance? We'll see about that when they're on display in Hera's base, trapped between palisade gates and markets. Army? Your army is a zoo now, kid. I love this Hera copypaste

I wouldn't say "easily". Possible? Sure. But not easily. 1 range means you need perfect micro. Plus, you're in HIS base, and pikemen are cheap. He can just keep spitting them out and flanking you making your hit and run tactics even harder.

Theoretically, yeah. But keep in mind, a lot of people wouldn't have thought (and even more so, executed it correctly) to wall up the edge and trap the army. And without that gate, the lancers could have easily circumvented everything. Why keep going in the first place? In the beginning of the clip, you can see that red has dropped a castle in Hera's base. I assume he's trying to lure Hera's army away from the castle and buy his villagers time.

I think that in AOE3, units tend to be slowed to some extent upon taking a hit from a given unit. Maybe that could be an idea for AOE2, also, if that is not also the case in AOE2. Regards.

No it is not and it is also a terrible idea. Units already have hard counters to them. And mobility is a big + for some units especially cavalry. Micro battles also would be significantly worsened if hit units can be easily hit again. Respectfully, hell no. There is a reason why Aoe2 has prevailed for 25 years and still have a rather large competitive scene. Don't think 3 has anything comparable. 2 did it the best imo.

@@Jartran72 You might be right; I am not denying that, for sure. And, yes, there seems to be something about AOE2 that has made it still great and relatively popular, after all this lengthy and extended time; even in comparison with AOE3, as well.

Aoe2 is too dumb for that. Once u go aoe3 U just can't comeback to this mess
