Cheers for the great tips Alex. I'm not really a fisherman but I've got carp in my creek at my farm in NSW and need to get them out. I hope it's as easy as you make it look mate.

As a new subscriber to your channel Alex, I'd like to say that I enjoyed your video. You explained the tackle, the berleying, and how to detect the bites really well. You made mention of the amazing scenery. I know what it's like, as I fish the Murrumbidgee. Maybe you could show a little of the trip to the river and the amazing scenery, I'm sure it would entice people to go have a look for themselves. Keep up the good work mate, I'll look forward to your next video.

Sigh Carp are everywhere in South Australia but good fun for fishing and nice relaxing at the Murray river love it. Carp are nut if you use 1 or 2 red bead will attract a lot lot of Carp definitely big difference without red bead. I always use bread as bait with red bead like size of pea.

Great vid. Good tip get the juice from the can corn pour where you are fishing and can also get the creamed corn they smell from mile away.

Since carp eat at all levels, fishing carp using a floater is also common and works well. I certainly see carp swimming near the surface all the time. Your tip about chum is obviously very good, because the carp can detect scent or taste quite well, but casting out a single bait will take a while for it's scent to be detected by a fish. With chum it can attract fish that are probably 50 metres away, which probably wouldn't ever be able to detect the single bait on the hook from that distance. I am about to try to catch some carp in the cockburn river, apparently carp exist in it. I just have to wait until the flow slows down since it has rained a lot recently and the thing is flowing madly.

That was a great watch. So calming. Over never fished in my life but I recently was informed on how destructive European Carpe is for Australian species. Particularly, the platypus's that are endangered as a result of the carpe eating they're food. So, now I'm on a mission to catch some carpe. Thanks a million for this video!

Cheers mate, will be making a lot more videos, with this sort of content from now! I would use a Paternoster rig with a star sinker and size 3/0 suicide hooks. Definitely worth throwing metal lures around too.
