Well done Alex, but I think you cooked that fish the wrong way to get the best from it. What my friends and I did back in the 70s was to wrap it in alfoil under coals from the fire on Browns beach. Sadly something you cant do these days. Not so many rules or people telling you cant do that back then.

When going for Australian salmon in south Australia do you think a 1-3kg rod with a 1000s reel with 6 pound braid would be to light
@jackiechan1234Ай бұрын
i fished there once and i caught 13 carp with 3 other friends it was really good but now im not even getting a single bite
@steventurner8428Ай бұрын
With the white bread get a pack of strawberry or raspberry jelly crystals and mix in into the bread. Wet the bread a little to blend it in and maybe a little flour then roll a a small amount to cover the hook. Toss it in and watch the carp love it. I've caught thousands of carp with this bait often much better than sweetcorn and use a size 4 or 6 circle hook on a running rig..

These things make excellent compost / fertilizer in the garden. Just dig holes, chop it up and bury it. Then leave it and watch things grow. You WILL be surprised. "Oh" and don't let the dog get it.

2:35 Beautiful scaling stinking Lawn. I would get an empty onion net bag and clean the fish inside to catch the scales or mount it upright at the end of table let water through not scale.

Hiya Alex, been watching your shows for a long time and enjoyed them to the max as you remind me of my young life as a fisherman. My main target species was Mulloway but I have loved catching bream, Salmon and Yellowfin Whiting. I even landed a 10.5 pound Tailor of Waitpinga beach. I have caught many tailor over on the east coast but that was the only one I have caught in South Australia. As I said Mulloway was my number one target species and I must have caught thousands of them with my largest was 50 pounds. My record was 112 jewies in one night. I am not far off 77 now and watching your videos is prompting me to head off fishing again...I may go down to Westlakes as I live not far from there. Btw if you are interested in low priced fishing gear, lines, lures, hard body and soft plastics please let me know. My son's an importer and he can get Shimano reels, rods etc like Stella 5000 for $250, Shimano Altega 3000 for $150 or any brand or size you want. I have Stella 5000, Sedona 5000 and Penn and Ambassador reels and they are amazing. Just let me know Alex. If there is a way I can give you my address privately I would. All the best Gordy.

Really appreciate this kind message Gordy. And that’s brilliant. Heard plenty of stories of the odd big tailor in SA. especially down south that way and west coast. Sounds like you’ve had some extraordinary fishing experiences. You can flick me a message through Facebook or instagram to contact me privately if you would like. Cheers mate.

That was some pretty poor fish handling on the salmon. The bigger one would be lucky to survive that.
