I go over very single animal catch and how to catch them like what trap to use what bait to use where to catch them all kinds of good stuff. I only learned trapping after like 520 hours so hopefully with this video you'll learn it a little earlier xd

Very useful and informative video! Been trying to figure out trapping for a while now, since mostly I tried is fishing. Would you say fishing is easier than trapping or are they both equally hard for new players to try out?

Thank you Noveva ^^ Honestly both are viable options for new players especially if you know how traps work but if you're surviving in winter fishing is a lot harder so in winter times I would recommend trapping.

@@Noveva Rotten food cannot be used as bait unfortunately but you can use normal vegetables that are not fresh. Stale veggies give unhappiness to your character so it's a good idea to use them as bait.

Around mccoy warehouses it says vegetation so I use stick traps for birds. But the biggest bird I ever got was 29hunger cooked, dunno how better other traps is in comparison

Stick trap only catches birds and birds are not that big even if you get a big one so if you want a bigger catch, I think rabbit is the way to go.

I'm playing cdda and the winter is really brutal. What do you recommend is best or could you do a video on how to survive winter and still have enough food to gain weight?

I mean for winter, I think the best advice is to prepare beforehand eat perishable food first and try to stock on non-perishable food. Foraging and fishing is not a good idea in winter but if you gained some trapping skills before winter trapping can be a good food source in winter. I might make a video in the future if I find a lot of stuff to share about the subject.

Fishing is still viable in winter, just with reduced yields and the best times to go fishing is 4am to 7am, and then 6pm to 9pm. Outside of that, you'll have a tough time catching anything. And without at least 4 levels, don't even try spear fishing in winter.

Hello I have a bit of a problem with placing bait and I can't find any solutions online. I have a full cereal box in my main inventory and have a trap crate placed but when I right click it doesn't show an option to place bait. I've tried everything including using vegetables and other types of traps but nothing seems to work.

The bait needs to be in your character's inventory if it's in your backpack it won't detect it for some reason. This is true for some things in PZ. For example if you have a trap in your backpack and you click on the ground, place trap option won't show up but if it's in your character's inventory it'll show up. So try putting the cereal to your character's inventory that should hopefully work.

I heard from another youtuber that mice traps do not need to be 75 tiles away to catch like the other traps. Is that true?

Yeah I read that before making the video but I wasn't able to catch any mice like that so I didn't want to include that info in the video. Feel free to try it yourself though maybe it is possible to catch mice even when you're close to the trap.

Best animal to catch is rabbit. A rabbit can give up to 100+ nutrition. Best trap to use to catch them is trap crate. Theyre easy, cheap and no need trapping skill to craft them. You gain lots of xp too

Yep that's a thing unfortunately. Maybe you can try to barricade your traps and put a door or try to trap places with less zombies like a deep forest far from the city just some ideas.

Just right click somewhere and click walk to. Green square that comes up is how big a single tile is so you can count tiles with that green square

If the bait disappears, you're on the right track. You might wanna choose a better bait or a better place to catch the animal you want
