I've done this twice by now, both in the Moss Blanket. The first time, I spent 3 days doing as you said and didn't find any. After going into Viktor's Slimulation and finding a Hunter in that area on there, I decided to try again. I got to the area at around 3 am on game time and found four Hunters by 5 am. I forgot to add, another thing that I found out upon doing it the second time is that you also should listen for the sounds of chickens being eaten, because that means you either have a Hunter nearby or more of the slimes you don't want have spawned in.

There is another way to get Hunter slimes (although it only works once). In the Moss Blanket where you find the feral hunter largos, there is a hunter gordo on top of a mushroom. Feed the gordo until it bursts, and you will get hunter slimes.

What i usually do is just sweep the edges of the moss blanket moving towards the ranch portal. It gets hunters slower but the actual hunter catching is much faster. You sweep, head back to the ranch do your upkeep (refill auto feeders, empty plort collectors, sell plorts.) Then go back and sweep again, rinse repeat. My method is a lot less boring. After a day (an in game day) I had 4 hunters.

I prefer to use gordo snares to get pure hunter slimes because it's faster and more efficient. Just place a roostro in the snare and sleep, a hunter gordo should appear the next day. Just feed him until he bursts and you got lots of pure hunter slimes

Yes, bursting a gordo is definitely a great way to do it for anyone far enough in the game to have access to snares! This is for newer players who want to catch hunters by learning where you can find them, what their habits are, etc.

(Kind of) Summary of the video: Tip 1. Most hunters found at “night just before morning.” Tip 2. Clear the area: Put all slimes into the pond/lake. Also throw the leftover plorts away if you don’t want the hunter slimes to become largos. Tip 3. Get on top of mushrooms (don’t forget to “sweep the area” so you don’t accidentally miss a hunter slime) Tip 4. Sound is key: listen for slimes spawning (if none spawn, commit ocean to slimes in pond.) Took Tench about 20 minutes Glass desert: 1. Go to the center portal 2. Go to the left gate 3. Head down feral slime path 4. Go right Tip 1. “Sweep the oasis” Tip 2. Get rid of slimes Took Tench about 10 minutes Final tip: Overgrowth is a good place to put a the hunter slimes you find Thanks for the tips! I tried it in desperare hopes of getting one and i sat in the area two nights and one day and got mothing. Not a single hunter, but from reading comments i decided ro wait a few ingame days and just take care of my slimes and sell their plorts, do some trading. This is great, but my problem is that in slime rancher I am terrified of any semblance of a threat, I play on casual and I avoid feral slimes. BUT EVERY INVENTION I WANT NEEDS HUNTER PLORTS!!!!! AGGGGHHH! So I’m worried about going there and finding feral slimes, but I guess I’ll just suck it up.

I know This is a very old video but my favorite slime is the hunter slime and it is so annoying when I find at least one and it ends up eating a plort and changing into a largo in my opinion it doesn't feel right getting a hunter plort from a largo version of a hunter slime but with other slimes I'm fine with it I don't know if that's just me
