How To Catch Kokanee Ice Fishing British Columbia Plus Jigging Jaw Jacker

Go Fish BC is looking at ways to enhance the freshwater fishery of British Columbia and one of them is by stocking more lakes with Kokanee. These land locked Sockeye Salmon are a lot of fun to catch, with a generous limit of 5 fish a person and taste excellent. While I have fished for them a lot in the summer months and have published numerous summer fishing videos, I have very few Ice fishing kokanee videos. In Fact this is my second one. Hopefully there will be more in the future as the kids really seemed to love the day out on the water fishing for kokanee. They are a schooling fish and when a school comes through the action be quite crazy as you will see in the video. Unfortunately two of the craziest bites I caught on camera had corrupted files and lost forever. Hope you enjoy this little video with my daughters. I love listening to them, the things they say get me smiling every time.
The Jigging Jaw Jacker was actually responsible for quite a few hits and several fish on the ice. Just didn't make it on the video. You can see it in action for one fish at least. Amazing contraption. I'm really impressed with these rigs.
Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and LIKE the video. Hit that Notification BELL to find out when my next video will be Premiering.
Best of luck with your next adventure and God Bless!

aww man, the matching hello kitty chairs, the buddy heater, then the hot dogs! Nothing beats a good hot dog when out fishing.

Yes, I have girls and that is for sure. I think they're pretty amazing though. Hello Kitty chairs and all. I got them up at 6:30 AM and they fished till 4PM, they crashed in the truck in like 5 minutes, haha.

Ive borrowed your tip of putting a flasher on the jigging jawjacker to attract the kokanee, it works great. Love that your kids love getting out there to ice fish.

Excellent. Yeah it does work. I still haven't seen anyone in BC fishing with a Jaw Jacker. They aren't that common out here. I have seen many elsewhere but I think most guys in BC don't put them in because of the one rod through the ice rule.

Yeah this was the first time I acutally used them to catch kokanee and I think that one jaw jacker hooked four and two landed by my daughter off camera, the one on camera popped right when she was dragging out of the hole.

You can save corrupted GoPro files by simply uploading them into your KZbin channel then saving them. Just learned that yesterday. Wish I knew that trick a few years ago. You do lose some quality i found.

@@ChrisKingAngling Well I am going to try that. You just upload it directly to youtube as the corrupted file and it plays? That seems too good to be true but I will try tonight. Let you know if I am as lucky.

@@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Yes. I just clicked upload, dragged the corrupted file into KZbin, it processed the file automatically for a few minutes, then the file could be viewed. I saved the file as a mp4 back into the original folder on my computer.
