Our water surface temp is 90 at day light and 93-96 by 2:00 pm and I’m catching limits of slabs every day I go in less than 25 ft of water up to 15ft of water . Crappie stay way shallower than most anybody thinks in hot summer . And our summer has pumped out over 30 days above 100° this year already

Bite has been great in alabama up until this weekend we got a ton of rain friday it slowed the bite down last 3 days its stormed every afternoon its been hotter than 400 hells lol we dont have a thermocline on coosa river very rare cause we have current fish have been shallow under 10 fow 3ft has been majic depth last year was totally diffrent 20+ was the depth...great info 👍

Yeah them river systems will mess up normal patterns quick. I haven't learned the main river here yet

I will add, fish the water discharges if you are on an industrial lined river system. Though the water temps from the discharge ports are usually warmer, they can produce good oxygenation especially if they pour into the river from as short as 12 inches from the top of the water.

I fished yesterday surface temp 93 fished from 11:45 am and 100° plus outside temp with no wind flat calm fished till 1:45 pm . Caught my limit of 25 keepers and went home overall depth was 18-20ft. The high wind , low wind , no wind , middle of the day , hot weather is all myth. Fish feed every day they have to eat . They are wild animals and wild animals are opportunistic feeders .

from what i've heard the bite has been rough on Greenwood with high water temps. one of my boys said he only caught 5 in 30mins which is slow for him. i can't wait to get back on the water to try your Goblin color and Blink color 👍

A lot of people talk about fishing docs but the lakes where I live in the Ozarks in Missouri are all floating docs no poles down to the bottom Are they as good fishing?

Yeah they just want the shade the poles are definitely a plus. The floating docks only downfall is they will hold right in the middle of the dock and without livescope you can't get em.

@@TurnerFishingg not true my friend. My FAVORITE type of crappie fishing is with my 13’ ACC Crappie Stix. I fish the small gaps between the dock and the boats. Especially if it’s a double slip. They ALWAYS congregate in the very center of the dock. Mostly 10-15 ft deep on my lake. So I use weight, hook and minnow. And I DESTROY then. Hope this helps. It’s my close guarded secret! 🤫

A thermocline is temperature difference not “ dead water”. Thus thermo. Look up thermocline. Says nothing about no oxygen

Correct. Its a unmixed layer of deeper water thus no oxygen in the unmixed water no sense needing to explain that.

Yes, there is less O2. The temperature gradient of the water traps the upper dissolved O2 in the water, and keeps it from mixing with the lower water column. Stephen is essentially correct.

​@@kdoggoutdoors it's common knowledge that it doesn't hold enough oxygen for the fish to survive. Millions of videos explaining this. Find a thermocline and fish below it, see what you get. Then fish above it. It'll prove itself.
