Always loved catching Mullet when fishing Merimbula/Pambula, but more towards the 30-45 CM, always a good fighting fish. The technique you used is also terrific when fishig freshwater for Catfish or Large Carp! Great video

Hey Nev. This is your friend Ray from Foley Alabama USA. We use bread to trim up the mullet hair we have a place we can buy a big garbage bag for $5 we take about 4 garbage bags to Chum the mullet up. What you call a yellow-eyed mullet we call it the silver mullet here in Baldwin County Alabama they're very tasty over here period in some places they're not like Louisiana they taste like petroleum motor oil because of the oil spill. Some people here use them only for bait. We're hoping this year that we get a good bit of mullet because they always come from the East but in Florida as you know they had the red tide and it killed thousands of mullet I mean if the beaches were loaded they're dumping raw sewage in the water in Florida and nobody stopped them that's the main thing here United States we have if they don't stop this rough sewage going in our Rivers we're not going to have any fish anymore and then it's going to contaminate the rest of the world. I wish your government would look in on this at least protect your country anyway we've tried catching mullet on a hook and when you get one as a pound-and-a-half 2lb these fish are the best game Fish you ever try to fight they fight like what we call a while who or a king mackerel there are some tough fish when you get them up in size love you videos keep coming back with more I always loved watching the ones when you catching squid that's my favorite dish to eat catch you later love you your friend re from Foley Alabama roll tide roll

If you make a small circle of elastic and then tie about 8-10 hooks on line onto the elastic. Then take a piece of bread and split the slice of bread in half and roll it up. Now put the bread in the elastic ring and then put the hooks that you tied onto the elastic, into the rolled up bread. The mullet will attack the bread and you may well hook up to as many as 7 mullet at a time. Well worth a try.

Great Vid Nev, try smoked mullet - bloody delicious. I include "sardines in oil" in my berley allows a good slick. As you mentioned Always do a slow retrieve allows more hook ups. Pod worms are really good bait but a PIA to get/find.

Just started fishing at bobbin head theres a TON of mullet near the shore. I was told to use bread. Is that a viable option? Also I'm fairly new about my 5th time fishing still learning how to feel the bites. I tend to feel a bunch of little nibbles when do I "Strike or pull up" or do they just get hooked by themselves biting over the hook? Cheers
