Mega fish, do you find they feed better on a down tide or an up, keep meaning to get out on them with lures but never find the time for fishing.

Brilliant video loads to learn from it👍🏻 what size rod do you use for a big river? Like how big and casting weight I only have a small dropshot rod?
@luresonly2 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy! All depends on what size lure I want to use mate, I tend to use an 8ft 5-20 this time of year, a fox ti pro, but in this video I was using a heavier rod as I had Texas rig set up on my other. The rod in the video is an Oz rod (Up to 28g) and 7ft, it's a custom I had built a couple years ago. Longer rods are better for zander especially when I need to cast far

Can You give me advice how to find out fedding Zander spot on Trent ?
@luresonly2 жыл бұрын
They are pretty much everywhere, but they always sit in the same sort of features, deep rocky bottoms, edges of slacks, crease lines between current or behind structure, it's just a game of finding likely looking spots and flogging them to see if their are any around

In the warmer months are you looking for deeper sections of the river still or not?
@luresonly Жыл бұрын
No mate, they can be tough to catch this time of year, but you get them in the white water shallow, and generally spread out in the faster water, depth isn't that important but they do like a bit

so, i get told that pike and zander fishing is a no go and its seasonal now, although it never used to be, so how come videos of fishing for and catching predators are ok to produce on hot sunny days????????????????? i am not a newbie to the sport, i have rods that i use that are older than the video poster ffs
@luresonlyАй бұрын
pike fishing has never been seasonal, its often toted by the PAC but its not a rule, a few years ago the EA PAC and a university did a study on pike fishing and their mortality after being caught, they produced a paper which clearly states its unsafe to fish for them when the water is over 20 degrees Celsius. The river i fish may get to that temperature for a week or two each year. having a season based on dates when its temperature that is the problem is just silly. All i would say is dont fish baits for them when its warm, they take them down way to quick. also remember just because its a sunny day, doesn't mean the waters warm, that is caused by extended periods of hot sun.
