Nice session men. What's with the need to now call squire snapper?

A snapper without the bump was once referred to as squire, usually juvenile fish. In the 19th century, the spelling was "schnapper." A reference to this spelling can be found in E.M.Grant, "Guide To Fishes," published in 1965 by the Department of Harbours and Marines, Queensland. Whatever it's called or how it's spelt, the snapper is a beautiful fish. Cheers

Hey @chisel1000, We need to be PC. ;) We just stick with snapper now as our southern Pro Team guys gave us grief about calling smaller snapper squire. Apparently it's a QLD thing. Either way they are definitely a favourite for many anglers and great fun on light gear. We hope you're getting out and stuck into a few. Cheers, Justin
