Isn't it strange the amount of squid around this year. I took a trip up to Torquay to do some squid fishing a few years back as that was the place to go. This year the local marks down my way in Cornwall are crawling in them, crazy numbers. Good watch, thanks.

It's certainly been a bumper year. So unusual to get settled weather throughout October and November these days. Previous years have been no good for squidding.

@ I had my first try 2 weeks ago I only had the one though , Jon had ago last week and pulled in 6 and the reports are there all starting to get bigger so I must get out and try again

Thank you mate. Those Starlites come with a bit of tubing. Thread line through tubing and push starlite into tubing. It'll hold itself in place.

In our shallow bay I do prefer a flood up to high. However, I was on chesil yesterday and caught well on the ebb and bottom of tide.

How long do the squid hang about?

That depends a bit on the conditions. This year has been brilliant because of the prolonged settled weather we're having. If that continues they'll be around for a few more weeks yet. Generally speaking August to December is the season.
