I have an ultra lite rod setup with a bead head fly and a split shot. There is a pier about a half mile from where I live that is full of undersized bluegills. It takes me about five minutes to catch my bait

Yes Bluegill are very good catfish bait. Only that's like using a filet mignon to catch a Salisbury steak. It's just stupid considering catfish will literally eat just about anything.
