I tend to go with dropper loop. I actually cut one side of the dropper loop so that it is longer. I then tie on the hook with a Palomar knot. I like that longer lead to the hook that way the bait is further away from the main line. I’ve also done it with only the palomar knot and caught fish. Both seem to be sensitive enough and strong enough to catch even king salmon. Btw, I did get one salmon to follow and bite the top strike lure you sent me awhile back. Thanks!

Wow that's awesome!! Yeah those Top Strikes are great for a lot of species. 🎣🎣🎣 Also love that idea of making the lead a bit longer. I think it would be useful for tiny flies as well, where it's tough to get a loop through the eye. 👍 Tight lines my friend!

I find droppers give very good hookup ratios with lures that you'd want the fish to inhale, like worms or micetails

What knee surgery did you have, im having knee surgery in 2 weeks and i was planning on going fishing while i recover

Lateral Meniscus repair. It was a really big tear -- I've heard of people walking away from the surgery, but I sure didn't! 😂 couldn't bear weight on it for a month. Wish you the best!
