How to catch WHITING on SURFACE lures in the SHORE BREAK. Top water Whiting

I beached the boat at a pristine beach after exploring the coastline and stopped have a look for yellowfin whiting on surface lures and get that topwater bite. first cast produced a fish.
Fishing Flats and bays are one thing but fishing the shore break from the beach is something else and is super exciting watching the sand whiting chasing the lure in the wave.

I’m not sure what your referring to with the guides? It’s a UL Daiwa td black 1-2kg or 1-3lb I can’t remember. Good little rod

I've tried Thomson's with no success. Was using slipperydog 65s. Blokes reckon ya better off with a bigger lure 95 even 120s. How have you found size of lures vs size of fish

Interesting in australia how right handed people don’t fish with the rod in their right hand and reel in with their left like we do in England. Notice how after casting u need to keep switching hands. If u put the reel and le on the left side of the reel then you can cast snd then go straight to reeling in plus you have more control of ur rod being right handed. Give it a try, will change ur life lol

I’m an Australian and it drives me mad too, I always fished right handed until my old man corrected me when I was about 14, I’m now 31 and now all of my reels are lefties and I will NEVER go back.

I’m right handed but my left arm is actually bigger and stronger for some reason

I am right handed. It feels more natural to me to wind with my right hand. I still hold the rod with my right hand and only swap rod hands when winding. I also have no trouble jigging with the rod in either hand. But Winding with my left hand feels weird. It’s like driving , here in Australia to our detriment thanks to England we drive on the left side while seated on the right hand side. While visiting USA and Europe I hire cars for touring both Auto and Manual. I think it’s more natural to sit on the left side and change gears with my right hand.
