What I have heard that Firon was the first person, who celebrated his birthday and people started following that. Allhamdulillah I'm a Muslim, my parents, and my forefathers are Muslim ( they died as a Muslim, so they are still Muslim in Alam e barzakh ). I stopped celebrating our birthdays, and anniversaries. Firon was the one, who called himself god and I only believe that Allhah Taala is our creator and he is the only one God, who created everything and one day I have to return to my God Allah Taala. My daughter turned one we did nothing only because of the one reason, I can't do something which firon did. If you really want to do something don't celebrate birthdays until your children start to understand the meaning of a birthday. We live in a world, where we have peer pressure, you can celebrate on a low level tell them to celebrate with those who can't afford food and later when they can differentiate between religion and their personal desires start teaching them.
