Y'all need to know this is very simplified instruction. There is no one way of throwing pottery. And over time everyone developes their own style and techniques. What I am attempting to do is reduce the number of steps to allow you to feel and understand the very basics. From that point I hope you gain sucess and start adding techniques that will work for you. As an example I have Charlie coning and centering the clay with only his left hand. A lot of folks don't know you can do that; allowing the wheel to do the work instead of your brute strength. Eventually just like pulling Charlie will add in the right hand and even be more effective at centering. But!! Very often its the secondary hand that is causing the clay to uncenter. I consider the left hand primary for centering in right handed people using the power of the wheel coming into the hand.

I have several folks at the club trying out my learning system. They all are having the same basic problems. Ive not seen a lesson on youtube before; only demonstrations. Not complete training by any means. But it gives me an opportunity to address some specific issues.

@@judgetoogood1033 I've made pots that were used for bonsai. Whether they were up to traditional standards is questionable.
