How to change 1999 Ford E350 7 3 liter Powerstroke fuel filter. This should apply to all 7.3 liter diesel engines in the VAN & BUS models. 1994-2003 I believe.

Thanks, I liked your video, I just did my 97 E350 7.3 filter. Your video gave me good info, while doing mine, I found it easier to come at it from the rear. The resonator was easy to remove/replace and gave me great access to the filter

I will have to try that next time I need to change , hopefully not for a while haha

I’m glad your video was a little more in-depth. My next job is to replace the fuel filter in the bus I bought

Glad I could help ! It’s not too bad. Definitely remove resonator form inside doghouse. Makes it much easier !

Oh definitely will. Anything to make a job easier. Soon as I get a break in the weather I’ll def be doing it.

Thanks for video. This gave me confidence to continue servicing my fuel filter system. I have a fuel leak somewhere in the system, most likely the drain valve, but getting to this item in the Econoline van is considerably more difficult then an F series truck. A recommendation in your comment section by John Lutz indicated it was easier to approach from the doghouse area and I found that removing the resonator and intake tubing completely from the van gave access to the fuel filter from both directions. I am going to remove my fuel filter housing completely from the van to replace all o-rings so I am still working for complete access. Not there yet but have to say thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for the video. Do you have to depressurize the fuel prior to filter replacement?
@TreyJustice4 ай бұрын
No need. Just start up of no leaks will pressurize itself.

Yes three times and each time they were too big. But I just got the old one to fit right, God is good. I’m getting my new batteries in two days and should finally be on the road. Thanks for your response brother

Hey thanks for the video! About how long would you say it took to do this?

I would say no longer than an hour ! It took me longer but I had no guide haha
@leosarrade89953 жыл бұрын
I would recomend against chiseling it tight. Just make sure you get a new O-ring for a good seal.
@TreyJustice3 жыл бұрын
Great advice! I was afraid my chisel would break but seemed to hold up okay. The new filter came with O ring. Bus is in shop right now for tune up. I told them to double check everything !
