How To Change A 2010 - 2021 Toyota 4Runner Cabin Air Filter - Remove Replace Replacement Location

A video tutorial on how to remove and replace the cabin air filter on a 2010 - 2021 Toyota 4Runner. You should change the cabin air filter, also know as AC or A/C air filters, every 10,000 - 15,000 miles. The location of the cabin air filter in the Toyota 4runner is behind the access panel in the glovebox.

Thanks for the demonstration, took me barely even 2 minutes and the shop would’ve charged $150+ for something so easy, that’s one of the great things about the 4Runner is how easy they made it to access replaceable stuff like this

I own a Nissan Titan 21 and a 22 4runner and Toyota charging anything besides 30$ for this is crazy I understand why Nissan charges 75$ because it’s 5bolts to remove the entire side of the dash with glovebox and door to get to it

For anyone wondering I bought a Bosch replacement filter for $19 on Amazon and it has the “air flow arrow” that he talks about in 0:55, but the Bosch filter has been great so far, fresh clean air!

Can you advise where the air actually enters the vehicle, prior to the filter. I have mice that get in, chew their way through the filter, build a nest, and enter the cabin of the 4Runner. I need to know where the air enters, so that I can install some manner of chicken wire screening across the entrance. Thank you.

There is usually an air inlet outside of the vehicle near the bottom of the windshield. Not sure if that's the only possible entrance point though.
