For anyone watching it nowdays: I would recommend to do it in rubber gloves because you shouldn't touch anything inside the watch with your bare hands. You can leave grease or dirt on the mechanic if you touch it without gloves which will later result in rust inside the watch. Nice video, thank you for sharing your knowledge!✌️

Just want to say thanks for sharing. We used to have a jeweler at our local store, but they will not take on repairs of older watches. You teaching us this will give life back to our watch. Thank you for the information and the links for the tools.

Good post, 2 suggestions .. 1) my wife’s MK watch has a sticker reminding me to reset the watch by shorting the battery ‘+’ terminal to the ‘AC’ connection (other watches also require this). 2) if you use a screwdriver to tighten or untighten, be VERY careful not to stab your other hand!

Hey. I just put a new battery in and the watch started ticking again. I did as the sticker said and shorted the AC point with battery +. (maybe I shouldnt have put it straight on battery + :S ) The watch died instantly when I did. I think I either shorted the battery or damaged some mechanic.. What did I do wrong?
