Normal lamp bulbs (E14) can be used however please check the wattage and voltage are the same as the existing bulb.

My Cheriton fire looks just the same as the one in the video, but has three additional screws along the back of the red moulding which also have to be removed.

Is it possible to change these for a led bulb? I have a Dimplex SAL 20E where the bulbs are directly above three halogen bars. Some leds are of a type of plastic. Could they possibly melt considering heat and position? Any suggestions?

over 12 months after i purchased the cheriton fire went to change bulb found i was unable to get it out , since it was obviously cross threaded during manufacture, since i only bought the fire for the flame effect its now totally useless, not very good quality control from Dimplex.

great 'how to' however when I went to remove the bulbs (original ones from fire purchased Oct 2015) the glass bulb came away from the metal screw in contact. This happened with both bulbs, I only tried to unscrew gently used no force and they simply came away in my hand, the glass is not shattered it was as if whatever holds them together had disintegrated. The problem I now have is that the metal ends of the bulbs are stuck in the bulb holders.... any advice gratefully received.

Good Morning Jackie, I am sorry to hear this. Have you tried to when the fire is disconnected from the mains to remove the lamp stuck in the holder with a tool such as long nose pliers? @@dimplexinfo Thanks for replying. My son's an electrician. He could do it. My lights aren't broken but I want it to glow brighter when other lights in the room are off. It's quite dim. I noticed the normal bulb version of this fire takes 2x 60w bulbs. That must be a lot brighter than the LED version. Is there an LED board that'll fit that is brighter than the ones built into the fire? I'd buy that and get my son to fit.

Why do the two bulbs always go at the same time. So it's nothing to do with individual bulb's filament. Must be some electrical anomaly or simply bad manufacturing.

I have a Dimplex Cheriton 2kW Electric Freestanding Fire. Last week the lights would not work and the heater was also not working. I tried changing plug fuse. Still nothing. Next morning the heater was working but both bulbs were out. Had to buy 2 new ones and now all is well. But roughly every 6 months, both bulbs go together have to renew. I can understand 1 bulb going but it's always both.
