Your Video on how to remove Daikin indoor unit fan motor without having to dismantle Heat Exchanger is a real help and saved me lots of angst. I really applaud your lucid explanation of the process and the tip on grub screw and re assembly. Thank you for sharing your experience with others.

I appreciate the video, I’ve been doing hvac for 5 years and have yet to work on many daikans, mostly Fujitsu, lg and Mitsubishi plus some low end brands and was informed from a coworker that I’d possibly have to pump the unit down and remove it from the wall to replace the fan motor to get the drain pan out and I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. Will try this method out tomorrow, once again thank you!

I changed it myself and I'm very happy, it works. You are the only one who posted a real useful video. Thank you a lot!

I just did this on a 10 year old model today. The set screw wasn't a problem because I had a magnetoc screwdriver. The problem was the unit was 12ft on the wall. My boss had never done one of these and he was having me do all of it as he can't use ladders. The guy at Daikin was describing how to but the unit was so old I had to figure it out myself.

I have a Panasonic DC outdoor fan and the wire got burnt after a bandicoot got electrocuted inside the outdoor unit near the main AC lines.. How do you unplug the wires going into the fan? Looks like they are built-in for waterproofing. Can you crack open the fan case to access the circuit board and those wires?

thanks for the time and effort you put into this post. i am a master hvac contractor and i was looking for a brand that is not $$$ mitsubishi that you don't have to remove the evap coil to replace the fan motor like most brands and your post answered my q instantly. i do sell airtemp but after looking at the specs airtemp only has a 7 year warrenty on mini splits dickin has a 10 year warrenty so case closed....last note your fan blades are satureated did you throw away the filters??

Try a squirt of wd40 or unscrew the screw another half turn.

I have a CTXG12QVJUS after replacement of the blower fan we had a whirl whistling type noise and cannot figure out what is causing it. we thought it was the motor and replace it and still have the noise. Any ideas what could be causing the noise? The fan and motor appear to be positioned correctly. It is being worked on by a tech from a Daikin Dealer.

Did you replace the bearing on the opposite end of the blower?
@MrFifaForever132 жыл бұрын
If the noise is coming from the left hand side of the unit it is more than likely the shaft support bearing for the blower wheel, if it’s from the right you may have got a bad fan motor, you can usually tell if the fan motor is bad just by spinning it with your fingers and listen close to you’re ear, if you hear a noise or feel a restriction it that would be the motor. I’ve also had units have a whistling noise from a broken fin on the blower wheel or some have weights and if they’re not in the correct spot they may whistle as well, now if it’s more like a vibration sound I’ve had units where if the wiring harness for the fan motor is resting on the motor it’s caused a sound as well, just some tips to look for that may help you

can you post a link in youtube for mitsubishi ge25ve model how to change fan motor because it's noisy?
@grizzlyfn3934 жыл бұрын
Sorry, i don't have that but the method is exactly the same.

Thanks for the detailed video. Was the motor replaced due to noise concerns or motor stopped working? If noisy, would you happen to have a video to show to noise concern. My indoor unit is noisy whenever the fan is on, noise increases with fan speed. Daikin came out and said I need a complete new indoor unit which seems excessive but maybe just easier for them.

I had a ticking sound on one of my units and it increased over time. Just had the fan motor exchanged for a new one and the sound stopped. 2 years later and I again hear some lil bit ticking on the same unit. The issue could be with bad fan motor axis alignment imo and so it will bend the axis slightly over time. What did you do with yours?

Well i must say you should never say the weird just in a video it implies somethings about to be easy. 6 hours and this things not just coming out without a big hammer. Not all models just come out this easy. Smashed the entire old fan out from back to the front now looking at welding a thread on the shaft to Jack it out like a reverse bearing puller.

It does state in the video that this is not for the DIY enthusiasts.
