Before this video, I knew practically nothing on the inner workings of a mini split. Thank you for an excellent video.

Great video. 4 yr old installation. 8 screws were a struggle. Use PB Blaster and a good #2 Phillips. Cleaned the moldy roller fan with vinegar at the same time. Saved $200 labor. 😊

I watched a lot of videos prior to repairing my noisy Panasonic fan motor. Once the motor is out, it easy to then replace the bearings. This was the 2nd noisy motor, so replacing the bearings is probably a better long term fix for mine than getting another OEM motor assembly. In my case I had the original so I was able to replace its bearings and do the swap like this.

Those are nice heads... I service a school that has multiple FTXS18LVJU Dakin heads and those blower wheels are a real pain to take out. Pretty much need to remove the coil or suspend the coil to the mounting bracket as you slip the plastic case off ... Great Demo 👍🏾

Yo I'm so glad this gave you some peace of mind, I freaking love youtube.... Aye FYI have you seen the bag that nucal makes to go over the coil for a mess free cleaing? It makes cleaning these sooo much easier and you really don't even have to take the blower out because it allows you to blast it with a hose and garden sprayer

I installed a couple of AirCon mini splits. One has been going 24/7 since 2019 and has had a squeaking noise from the blower since day one although it is still going fine, a bit louder, but still fine. The other AirCon has a slight noise since 2020 and its install, also 24/7. Is it more likely related to the rubber gasket or to a bearing on the fan? I tend to think a bearing would have gotten louder much quicker? I also have installed a Senville unit (they are all a ton and a half) in 2020 and have had zero problems with it. No noise from the fan which is very quiet. Where are parts available for these units? I have had very poor luck finding a supply house that has specific parts available for specific models. Tearing down the units and waiting three or four weeks (sometimes more) for parts is not a good option for a primary heating system here in Alaska so that parts can be matched! As always when dealing with plastic snap together parts the less they are disassembled and reassembled the better as the plastic gets brittle with age and can snap off with no way to replace those parts. I am happy to see you are getting more oriented to mini split units rather than traditional A/C as you had been in the past. Very handy.

I removed entirely the set screw from motor shaft while trying to remove blower wheel. (I have a Mitsubishi mini split.) I can't get set screw to tighten firmly onto the motor shaft. (I don't see a flat side on the motor shaft.) I don't want to overtighten the setscrew. Suggestion?

My Mitsubishi Mr Slim blower motor makes a continuous whirring sound. I've lubed the blower bushing on the left side but haven't touched the motor. Before I take the unit apart: Can the motor be opened and lubricated? I can't find a matching replacement motor (RC0J30-CD) for sale anywhere.

Excellent video Brandon, very detailed with great instructions. I have a Fujitsu Mini Split that makes noise when the temp is on heat mode, it sounds like something is making a loud intermittent noise do you have any idea what maybe the cause? is that the reason you changed the motor on that unit? Every technician has given me a different reason, including dirt on the blower wheel plus leak in the system. I have cleaned the heat coil and the blower motor as well as adding gas to the system. It was only installed in 2018. Any help would be appreciated.

Isn’t it great that they all use different specialty parts so that you can’t stock anything on your truck. Isn’t it great that it takes two hours to do a preventive maintenance on one instead of 20? I service my own Fujitsu or Gree installations, but I will never service anyone else’s anymore. Total junk and difficult to work on.
