Very interesting. Quick question,is that a common fault on most gas boilers. Cheers thanks again.

Definitely divertor cartridges pass all the time. A what time check is if you run a bath and check to see if your rads warm up

This was so helpfull. I must admit that it left me for few days with no hot water and no central heating due to the replacement kit i bought did not included new orings and fibre washers. Cardridge was original and complete from ideal (not cheap from amazon) but there was no orings and washers for diverter valve body. I've took the valve off on good friday so all shops was closed. My missus was not very happy over Easter. Advise to anybody who would like to dyi make sure you do have complete kit and shops are open :)

Please if you have a problem with the boiler, you will need to get a gas safe engineer to carry out the work, it is illegal to carry out work on your own boiler if you are not gas safe registered

Guessing you released pressure from vessel and re pressurised to .75 before filling the boiler again?

Yes 20psi or 1.5 bar

Question, our boiler is tripping the fuse each time the central heating is on and when we turn the kitchen hot tap on, however if we have one or other on separately it doesn't trip, only when the central heating is on then we turn the hot tap on at the same time then it trips the fuse. Could this be the diverter value? Boiler is a logic combi 30, if not what do you think it might be? Thanks

Hi, thanks you for the comment, without having a proper look I couldn’t really say. But as a educated guess I’d say it’s not the diverter valve as I’d expect it to do it every time even when turned on separately.

@@SmartPipePlumbing Thanks for the message, yes we found out the issue, it was the diverter valve which was leaking which causes an issue with the diverter motor which filled up with water and caused the boiler to trip, even though it had been serviced the same day and the plumber who never spotted this, saying it was nothing to do with the boiler, hmm, so new diverter value and motor fitted and back to new

It’s still a good video though, very helpful, I just had to skip back a couple of times. The only problem I had, was wondering what the diverter valve was, when I looked at it, I realised it was a two way solenoid valve which switched circuits, that’s due to me working in a different engineering discipline, and using different terminology for one part.
