Trey Smith Your getting AT Command failed, because you are doing it wrong.. Make Sure there is a space between the AT and + asin "At +" and not "At+" also make sure there is not space in between your imei, asin "imeino" and not " imeino"

***** Yes that is what I meant. It is not probable that they robbed it. Many people finance expensive phones and pay it accordingly with their monthly pan bill. Unless you pay your phone off at once from day 1, you phone is technically still the carrier's and is financed until you pay it off w/ your plan.

Well technically they can walk into a tmobile or ATT and add the IMEI to the network and its like a fresh new phone. If you buy a financed phone, its possible to actually use it as a phone with this. Apparently tampering with IMEIs are illegal though. ""

If the past carrier didnt receive payment of the phone, plan etc. They will list the phone with a a bad IMEI so that the person who is in holding of their property cannot sell or use the phone. This doesn't stop people from selling their phones as clean IMEIs and actually selling bad IMEI financed phones. When an IMEI is blacklisted and when a phone has a "bad" imei, basically the number gets listed to a global list of these IMEIs and all these carriers search for the device you are activating and if its number is on it or not. If it is on a Global Black list, you can be sure it will be denied service.
