According to the service manual - the engine needs to be running in park or neutral while you check the atf level. The ATF should be between 50-60c like you said in the video. You might want to check the level with the engine running next time. Thanks for posting the video.

After watching your video, I'm going to do mine, a 11/2015 6 speed auto with 233,000klm on it, as it's been dealer serviced it's whole life I'm guessing it's running what it left Bulgaria (or wherever Hyundia could get to bolt em together as cheaply as possible [Czech Republic]) with. Looking forward to seeing how dirty the fluid is on its first drain. Expecting whatever comes out to be blacker than a smokers lung. Thanks for a clear and concise video.

Well done . I’m doing mine shortly. 6 speed. I just bought the car with 85,000ks. The service book at 60k says change atf. Not sure if its been done. I’m doing 2 flushes minumum then every 50k at least as I will be towing a small van. Thanks for this excellent opportunity to learn how to do this particular box . 10/10. PS: Much cheaper to buy the 20 litre penrite drums for multiple flushes. 👍🏾

At each of the three changes, do you open the side hole to make sure you have correct level. And is it advisable to maybe drain it once a week for three weeks to get everything circulated?

I have a 2016 Tucson with 6AT automatic transmission (with torque converter, not double clutch) Does this type of gearbox change oil? In the technical manual and the Hyundai dealership, it says that it is maintenance-free and that the oil must not be changed. I have to change the oil? (i have 120.000 km on board)

that transmission should be from the same family as the 8 speed in mine - should be easy to check. If it was me, I would change the oil.

Hi Peter. Question why can’t you just fill the tranny using the side port? You drain the tranny and fill it up using the side port until fluid starts to come out of it. That’s your full level for the tranny. Same thing like filling a rear differential right? Thanks, Steven B.

I wrote up a quick step by step, please let me know if I missed anything eg 1. remove filler eyehole 2. drain oil 3. install drain bolt with new crush washer 4. refill trans oil with the engine running with the same amount you removed. 5. start engine and run transmission from P -D and D- P holding each gear for 3 secs 6. drive car for 25mins or so to heat transmission 7. once the transmission is at 50-60c do level check 8. turn off engine and be on level ground 9. open port check and allow fluid to drain until a small steady stream. 10. decrease/cleanup job done

Hei i did the same,, but not without checking the temperature.. So after i change the oil, i drive my car around 5 minutes, then i turn off my car, check the level right after.. First there is no oil that come out, so I add the new oil until it drops slowly like you Is it fine?

I think your model has a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) so it is completely different to the torque converter auto in mine.

The total capacity for DCT is 2 liters but no need to change only adding up if needed

Mate I have the filter and the mechanic told me he needs to disassemble the tranny to get to the filter. Poor design

I haven't looked into replacing the filter but know it's internal so it would be a PIA
