How to change battery on ADT home security monitor

I have limited tactile skills so handling those tiny screws is a nightmare, so attempting to do that "little task" is out of the question, especially since I'm paying a small fortune for the service. Years ago, when I had ADT it was wired so that I never needed to worry about batteries and if I needed help technicians were readily available. Today you need to walk through fire to get an actual ADT technician at your door unless you're interested in buying additional equipment.

It looks weird because after you installed the new battery, the message “low battery” didn’t appear on the screen. Why?

FYI: Battery is not free, (at least not here in CA). $39. + tax $43. If U replace with a generic battery purchased from other reseller (Amazon or local battery company) & it somehow damages your panel you're SOL. Voids warranty on panel. You pay to replace. If ADT battery is faulty they replace everything for free.

@@vicslick2616 adt will send us 1 free battery replacement not sure if it's once a year . I recommend you speak with your representatives. It may be possible also that they no longer do it. But the one is this video was sent to me by ADT

My base cover tamper warning does not want to clear off the screen. Any ideas?

Mine reset on it's own once I properly secured the front cover back on. I would try to remove and replace battery pack and re seat the cover back. It should clear. Also go back on screen and tap the alarm icon after typing your access code. That worked for me.

5:16 just be careful handling the panel after installing the battery. I ended up pushing the panic button and got an earful plus a phone call…. Lol

You must have not watched the video that shows you how to shut it down first so that you don't have to worry about the alarm going off. It's your panel. You have access to those settings so shut it down next time
