Great explanation and video, I agree with your view, getting a service for a luxury car should cost, however, not 300-400 for a light bulb. I hope to contribute as well one day to keep BMW real on the extreme charges for any of their services. Thank you.

Perfect - thank you Vinod! Direct visual of the metal clip is difficult and unnecessary to those experiencing trouble. I was able to release mine feeling around with the screwdriver while pulling slightly on the protruding plastic tab. The lamp will come out easily once you've found the metal clip and released it.

I am Texan, fling debris not uncommon (not intended to offend any Texans), likely the cause.

This is not applicable to 2016 model...there is no tab....BMW made sure to change this so people can't do there own repairs!
