How to change cluster bulb to Led for 94-04 Mustang

The ‘polarity’ tip was just what I needed, as 3 of my 5 led bulbs weren’t working. Now all 5 light up in a nice cool blue.

I bought the same LEDs but in white. I replugged it in, and none of the new LEDs came on. I then tried to reverse the LED bulbs in the sockets and still no lights. Then took each LED unit out and turned it 180 and reinserted, no lights. I checked the instrument cluster fuse and it is fine. Your overall disassembly instructions were great; I went to the auto parts store and got standard replacement bulbs and buttoned it back up. Thanks.

Bruh some cars doesn't like the LED type or they are defective or some i tried to switch to led on my 01 civic qnd it blowed all my cluster lights so had to take it to the shop for someone to weld in all back together again so careful with that

I'm new to the car scene with my '04 mustang, so happy to see a good video for replacing the lights! I just got new ones in a blue color as well and I'm excited to figure it out!

@@stangculture I have a question. So, I got different LED lights than the ones you have in the video, and they were way too dim. Would these ones for sure fit the 2004 mustang? I've been seeing some of the reviews to the link you provided and some are saying it's too big for the dash housing. Thanks!

@rebecca.annnne So from the research I have done. Some new edge (99-04) got this one I left the link too which is a 168/194 bulbs. And some got the size 37 bulbs which are definitely smaller. So the best thing to do is pull it out and see it. I guess they didn't put all the same bulbs on every single one of them.

Thank you! I got them, cause the ones I tried to use earlier were little sticks with one led square on top compared to the ring of leds, so hopefully these work! Thank you for your help!!

Maybe stupid question but the Knob pin goes back in just pushing it in or need to manually hooked in somehow..... Does the whole cluster easyly open in case you want to replace the gauges background? Thank nice video!

It just pushes in, gotta line it up tho then push in. Yea cluster easy to open up.

Does your clock still work when cluster is on? The dimmability + led= no go the resistance is just wrong for what it was designed for. I think one bulb would have to be standard condecent but could still be blue

So I have a 99 mustang and I put all my cars info in my Amazon and it says these won’t fit my car. I don’t know if I should just ignore that. Just wondering if this would fit my car? They should because it’s the same gauge cluster mines not white but still same set up 🤷‍♂️

Yea it's a 194 or 168 it should fit

Do i need to buy it with the twist socket or can I reuse the old ones and put a 194 leds in there that I have laying around

Curious. Is it necessary to disconnect the negative from the battery before proceeding with removal?

Unfortunately these LEDs did not fit on my 03 mustang. I have a green board behind my cluster unlike his.

You have to get led that let's you. Some don't. This one does.

I just did this today in blue also but for some reason my cluster stayed green do you have any idea why that would happen is there a green film that needs to be removed?

I have the cobra cluster which has a white face gauge, the Gt got a black face gauge. I think the cobra let more light out and the gt don’t. I think that’s why. I’m assuming you got the gt gauge?

Not sure if you figured it out yet but the numbers do have a green film you can sand off
