Very informative video, just for added safety whenever my car is on axle stands I always put the wheels under the car so if it ever falls it won’t land entirely on you or on the floor, even if using the four post lift in my work

A very good idea, Although if it falls from a four post lift a few wheels will probably not do a great deal to protect you, assuming you're standing under it when it falls, however a perfect Idea for working on the drive at home.

This video was made a few years ago. But let me tell you. There something wrong in your procedure. The horizontal screw of the control arm should be tightned with the weight of the car on the suspension. The way you did it, when tightning having the car jacked, the position of the control arm is not the normal driving position. When you've tightned, the bushing was not under pressure. But as soon you lowered the car and there's weight on the suspension, the bushing will be under pressure, and will be allways like that. That will lead to a premature wear of the bushing. I hope I was clear. I've tried to be as clear as my English allows me.

Thanks for this, very useful! process is much the same on my 04 Stilo, however the anti-roll bar is not on the suspension arm, and the subframe mountings are both just screwed straight into the subframe. I figure you could add a bit to your description and a couple of tags for this too and increase your views :)

You make it look very easy... it is not and you should not tight the screw at 4.01 before you push the suspension up becouse you will kill the bush !

I have a 2002 mk2 1.2 8v punto..in January this year I had a second hand gearbox n new clutch plate put in.now the clutch has started slipping badly. Ne ideas ?

Stuart Graham Sorry Stuart its very hard to say what's going on here, one possibility is that the new clutch has become contaminated, usually from engine oil or gearbox oil leaking from a seal within the bell housing area

How did you even remove the pinch bolt on the ball joint so easily? Mine broke on both ends until I hammered it out. And now I'm stuck, can't get the bolt anywhere on this planet.

That’s fine, the car was getting old as this stage and a replacement was being planned, sometimes just keeping it going is the plan and there isn’t enough time to spend carefully cleaning and painting. I’m not a fan of painting over rust it’s still rusty, you just cover the problem up, and on an old car you never 100% get rid of the rust.

the assembly was not carried out correctly. the arm bolts must be tightened with the horizontal suspension arm and not with the suspension arm hanging downward. in this way the silemblok does not work properly

@@PuntoHowto The rubber bushing will wear out faster than normal, since it has rotational twist on it that was not designed. The actual time is hard to guess, but it's probably in the region of wearing out in 3-5 years instead of 12-15 years.

I don’t have the car anymore so I can’t check, when I replace any bolts like these I always buy the genuine parts direct from the fiat dealer, they obviously cost more but they are engineered and approved specifically for the job
