It should only be greyed out if you have multiple clips selected - does it work if you de-select everything on the timeline ?

Ha-h. Stretching is not a fix. My problem is that video frame hits the top and bottom of preview screen but it still have black strips on the left and on the right.

This is because the aspect ratio doesnt match your project - aside from stretching out the horizontal the only other way to fix this is to zoom the clip in until it meets the black edges of the screen

You might be refering to generative fill which isnt yet a feature in PP but its coming soon...

Changing the sequence size doesn't help if the video is not centered. Edit: nevermind, I discovered the transform effect.
