⚠ Attention! The mistake was made in the video at 4:35 minutes. The tightening torque is 18 Nm, not 35 Nm. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Tighten until your wrist clicks! "Gutentight!" Just kidding. You are trying to snug and seat the rubber bushings. How about a generous spray of silicone to protect the rubber? Does the top nut need any Loctite? Are there bushings made of other materials that are more durable?

Great, after several watches (in slower mode) I finally got the rubbers and washers combination right - fantastic, cheers 👍🏻

The best video most accurate video for drop linkage. I have found 25-30 nm much better. As I find many rubbers are of poor quality and 35nm puts the lower quality rubbers under a little to much pressure and tend to try and split earlier in their lives. But that is just my opinion. I wish there where more quality videos like this. Thank you.

You don't show what exact order the rubber bushings and washers go on. A close-up or description would have been useful. I'm now struggling.

I was struggling with these points to, but after a couple more views (in slow mo play) I finally got it - I guess my reply is now no longer needed, only 1 year later 😂 Did you eventually sort it tho? 🤔

@@autodocuk Easy I said.. the nuts were almost rusted away. Had to use an angle grinder to cut the nuts.. and fitting the new lock nuts also took lots of time. But I finished the job 👍

Im guessing its the same for a 2006 toyota scion XA ?

In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing may be slightly different is the design features of your car. More accurate information can be obtained from the technical documentation for the car or by contacting car service.

If I've only got one jack, how could I lift the other wheel up at 2:16? Any other ways?
@autodocuk Жыл бұрын
We can recommend no other way in which this replacement will be within safety limits, otherwise, we recommend that you contact the service.
@dannysautorepair4 ай бұрын
You can use a jack stand then remove your jack and lift up the other side

I have a 2006 Toyota Aygo, the spanner’s I needed ended up being 11mm and 13mm not x2 12mm. Hopefully this is helpful to somebody.

Should not be tightened to 35 nm correct torque is 18nm 35nm will de thread the nut.
@mrt91783 жыл бұрын
You are so right about 35nm. I lost concentration and stripped nut and bar. Thankfully re-used old centre bar, found 25nm just fine.
@Gourmondise2 жыл бұрын
When I saw 35 Nm as the torque spec I was like - that seems a lot for those nuts.

Torque setting for the drop link is wrong! It’s not 35nm it’s 18nm
