In most USA models of BMW, E60 included, the front pads do have wear sensors. If the sensor itself is not worn (it has not caused a "Brake Pad" warning light), it can be reused on the new pads. If it (or they) are worn, they must be replaced with new pad-wear sensors. However, this video did not depict any brake pad wear sensors at all.

Caliper sliding bolts should be clean and put back with silicone grease. Brake grease should go between connectors of brake pads and brake bracket. Some sort of antisieze nice to put on clean whell hub before brake rotor is attached to prewent rust underneath and it's future removal problems same under the wheel before its screen on to studs.

Just had a first attempt at this after this video. My vlog wasn't as smooth, struggled to get the wheel off with an almost welded on nut, had to hammer the shit out of the calipers to get them off, one retaining clip broke and I managed to get a piece of rust in my eye where I then had to get a lift to A and E as my car was up on ramps with the brakes hanging off it. 1) All modern BMW cars have unique BMW lift adapter housings (4) on the lower left & right frame edges. These hollow plastic housings interface with special steel or nylon or hard rubber adapters used by all professional BMW repair facilities. Lifting a BMW car without these inexpensive adapters can and will damage the factory adapter housing. 2) In the USA, front brake pads (at least) have brake pad wear sensors - you never show that. 3) Professional BMW shops use a torque-limited impact gun or actual torque wrenches to (final) tighten all brake assembly bolts and the wheel lugs. You do not show any attempt to use correct bolt torque. 4) The brake pad carrier plates should be cleaned with a wire brush and a very light coating of high-temperature brake grease should be used at the interface between these plates and the brake pad metal ears. 5) The brake caliper slide rods (removed with the #7 bit) should be cleaned and re-greased with high-temp brake grease. Otherwise great vid!
