How to change front shock absorbers on RENAULT CLIO 2 TUTORIAL | AUTODOC

Like all the Autodoc videos it's straight forward and easy to follow.. I actually watched this as I need to change the front suspension on a mk2 Renault Twingo and I'm guessing it will be similar to the Clio. Apart from the the Twingo needing the wiper panel removed.

You have tightened the two lower strut bolts with an Impact Driver. Naughty! You will over-tighten them making them either impossible to remove by those using conventional hand tools and/or cross-thread and ruin the bolts. They have a torgue setting of no more than 105 Nm. Use a Torque Wrench. Moreover, NEVER, EVER use standard sockets on an Impact Driver. They will at best distort and at worst shatter and take your eye out with shrapnel. Use impact-ready sockets - black hardened steel. Other than that, a well-made and easy to follow video.

Is it necessary to do a wheel alignment after this? It doesn't seem like anything would have changed.

The top spring holder plate is NOT properly over the spring. It could pop out..

At 1:15. Do not ever use a normal socket on an impact hammer. Dangerous.
